Huperzine A is an organic compound with the chemical formula C15H18N2O. It is mainly used as a cholinesterase inhibitor for benign memory disorders in middle-aged and elderly people and various types of dementia, cognitive memory function and emotional and behavioral disorders. Product Function
Huperzine A is a new alkaloid isolated from the plant Melaleuca of the genus Melaleuca. It has strong cholinomimetic activity and is a highly efficient and reversible cholinesterase inhibitor. By inhibiting cholinesterase, it inhibits the degradation of acetylcholine and increases its activity, which may improve neurotransmitter transmission. The main side effects are vomiting and constipation.
