Product Introduction
Silymarin (Silymarin) is a natural flavonoid lignan-like compound that is extracted from the dried fruit of milk thistle, a plant in the asteraceae family. Its main components are silybin, isosilybin, silydianin and silychristin. Silymarin is insoluble in water, soluble in acetone, ethyl acetate, methanol ethanol, slightly soluble in chloroform.
Product Function
This product has an inhibitory effect on lipoxygenase and peroxidase. It is clinically used for the treatment of liver poisoning, liver dysfunction, anti-radiation and hypolipidemic effects. 1.Scavenging reactive oxygen species directly scavenges reactive oxygen species, fights against lipid peroxidation, and maintains the fluidity of cell membranes.
2.Hepatoprotective effect Silymarin has a protective effect on liver damage caused by carbon tetrachloride, galactosamine, alcohols and other hepatotoxins.
3.Anti-tumor effect Various reactive oxygen species can oxidize guanine to form 8-antelope guanine, causing DNA damage and then causing tumors. The use of antioxidants, especially free radical scavengers, can prevent this process from happening.
4.Anti-cardiovascular disease effect Ksoottva et al. studied the effect of silymarin extract on the oxidation of high cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein in mice. Mice were fed with polyunsaturated fatty acids and a small amount of saturated fatty acids containing silymarin extract. Compared with mice fed with polyunsaturated fatty acids and a small amount of saturated fatty acids, the former had a significantly lower cholesterol content in serum, a lower VLDL hair, and an increased HDL-C, indicating that silymarin improved the ability to resist LDL.
